I believe this poll represents several things. First its a positive and motivational rallying point for many of us who have put so much into this and are passionate about seeing Panos do so well. Second, even if it is not scientific, it offers an opportunity for people to participate and express their honest feelings anonymously. Third, with our current computer technology, I'm sure cookies and URLs or whatever you call them can be identified to delete repeat voters. Fourth, even though it may not be statistically sound it certainly is reflective of peoples attitudes, hopes and is motivational in nature. And yes its about getting folks out to vote, the ones that will make it count for Panos. This poll helps because the message that your are not alone or even part of a small group of supporters is loud and clear.

i'll grant it helps a little with name recognition, but not much beyond that ...

I beg to differ. All online polls are very important, regardless of how relevant they actually are, especially in an election like this. Its all about marketing and introductions. Panos is a relative unknown compared to the other two candidates. An online poll showing him with at least as much, or more, than the competition can give an impression to people unfamiliar with him that he is in the race and worth considering.

"Panos has fallen behind both candidates on PBN: http://www.bizjournals.com/pacific/poll/index.html
Panos has pulled ahead of both candidates on Advertiser ..."
one lesson -- online polls don't mean spit generally!
/let us focus on getting folks to the real ones on sat.!

I think we should wait for the official poll that Mufi will be posting. Remember 80% of people thought he was doing a good job in a recent poll that featured Mufi. We want to make sure the poll is done right, with the right question, within an appropriate margin of error and making sure we eliminate the bias of people that really want to Save Honolulu.
I just want to congratulate you for running for Mayor of Honolulu. I wish you the best and may you win this time. If you are the one then get ready to work after the election is over.
Good luck to you!
