June 2011 Letter to Friends

Dear Friend

I’d like to thank you for supporting my last campaign.
 
Though our last campaign was not successful we started to spread the message that Oahu’s transportation issues can be addressed without spending five billion dollars or more than $15,000 per family on Oahu. 

We have seen already that Peter Carlisle has become a ONE ISSUE mayor.  His sole purpose seems to be to build rail at any cost. While he is making multiple trips to Washington DC to schmooze for rail we continue to have daily water main breaks, trash flowing to the ocean from an overused landfill and sewers that do not meet EPA standards.  He has proposed tax and fee hikes that would even make Mufi Hannemann blush.

My concern is that we build a strong city – my team and I have a solid, workable plan to repair and maintain the roads, sewers and trash facilities to make Honolulu a better place to live. Our infrastructure problems can be solved if we have a reasoned, long term plan of repairs and scheduled maintenance like most major cities across this country and around the world.

Our goal is to win the 2012 election.  Your help is critical in making that happen.  There are two ways you can help:

We need to build a campaign fund that will allow us to run TV and radio ads and mail brochures early in the campaign so people know who I am and what I stand for. 2.    Join Team Panos.
 We need a strong network of grassroots volunteers to help us get our message out.  We need help with a variety of tasks ranging from office work and phone calls to door to door delivery of campaign signs and flyers.
