Daily Water Main Breaks on Oahu
Panos talks about the constant problem of water main breaks on Oahu. According to the Board of Water Supply, there were 364 water main breaks per year between 2005 and 2009.
Such a waste of water and resources simply needs to stop. At least one billion dollars needs to be allocated to this high priority issue to stop daily life disruption, water loss, closure of homes, schools and businesses, closure of vital traffic lanes for hours or days. We need to stop patching and start fixing.
